Neko Case, K.D. Lang, Laura Veirs Team for New LP, Tour
Neko Case, K.D. Lang and Laura Veirs have teamed up for a new collaborative LP titled case/lang/veirs, due out June 17th. The trio also unveiled case/lang/veirs‘s first single and opening track, the layered “Atomic Number,” which finds all three singers sharing vocal duties.
According to the trio, the singers came together a few years ago after Lang sent an email to Case and Veirs that simply read, “I think we should make a record together.” Despite barely being acquainted with one another, “Laura and I both responded immediately,” Case said in a statement. “There was no question.” The album’s 14 original songs were penned and recorded over the span of two-and-a-half years.
Case, Lang and Veirs also kick off an extensive tour in support of their LP in San Diego on June 22nd. The trek – which includes stops at the Newport Folk Festival and Brooklyn’s Prospect Park – concludes August 14th in Winnipeg. Pre-order case/lang/veirs and check out ticket information at the trio’s new official site.
