Fleetwood Mac Tribute Fest Recruits Mark Ronson, Joanna Newsom
UPDATE: Courtney Love and Carly Rae Jepsen have been added to the all-star event.
Mark Ronson, Joanna Newsom, Cold War Kids, Will Forte and Sarah Silverman will highlight the all-star roster for Fleetwood Mac Fest, a two-night event celebrating the 40th anniversary of the band’s most iconic lineup: singer Stevie Nicks, frontman-guitarist Lindsey Buckingham, bassist John McVie, keyboardist-vocalist Christine McVie and drummer Mick Fleetwood. The festival is set for February 9th and 10th at Los Angeles’ Fonda Theatre.
Over 30 performers – including Alison Mosshart, Perry and Etty Farrell, KT Tunstall, Dhani Harrison, Phases, Butch Walker and Doyle Bramhall II – will perform at the fest, joining house band the Cabin Down Below. The celebration was organized by the Best Fest, which has previously honored legendary artists like George Harrison, Brian Wilson, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones and Neil Young.
Tickets go on sale Friday, January 22nd at 1 p.m. EST. Proceeds will benefit the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund and The Sweet Stuff Foundation, organizations committed to assisting musicians and their families through illnesses and age-related disabilities.
Footage from 2014’s George Fest, honoring the music of George Harrison, will be released on CD, DVD and other formats on February 26th. That concert featured an all-star line-up, including the Killers’ Brandon Flowers, Conan O’Brien, the Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson and Al Jardine, the Flaming Lips, Spoon’s Britt Daniel and Norah Jones.
