Hear Zayn Malik’s Dancey ‘Like I Would’
Zayn Malik dropped another preview of his debut solo album Mind of Mine, releasing the dancey new song “Like I Would” Thursday morning. The song is a bonus track on the LP.
On the song, Malik belts his case that his ex’s new beau will not be as good as him. “He won’t love you like I would,” he sings as the beat evolves into a more frantic sound than the slower, syrupy tracks he’s previewed from Mind of Mine.
“Like I Would” is the third track released off Mind of Mine. It follows the dreamy, atmospheric “It’s You” and the more dynamic “Pillowtalk,” which debuted at Number One. He recently revealed the LP’s track list, which will include a collaboration with Kehlani as well as several bonus songs on the deluxe edition.
Malik left the boy band One Direction last year in the middle of their world tour in support of their 2014 album Four. He announced his solo deal with RCA that summer. One Direction released their first album as a quartet — Made in the A.M. — last November and have gone on an indefinite hiatus since.
