Brantley Gilbert, Justin Moore Lead Lost Highway Festival
Hours after Dega Jam joined the growing list of country music festivals who’ve cancelled all 2016 activities, another summertime event — the Lost Highway motorcycle show and concert in San Bernandino, California — has doubled down on its own event by unveiling the lineup for this year’s concert.
Brantley Gilbert will headline the second annual Lost Highway show at the San Miguel Amphitheater on Saturday, July 23rd. Social Distortion, who played the festival’s inaugural weekend last May, are back on the bill, joined by a number of country singers and rock bands whose audiences dovetail with Lost Highway’s emphasis on loud music and louder engines. Eagles of Death Metal, Justin Moore, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Tony Joe White, Colt Ford, Face to Face, Paul Cauthen and Taylor Hawkins’ Chevy Metal round out the initial lineup, with more names to be announced.
Although the musical performances will be limited to Saturday afternoon and evening, Lost Highway also includes two-day camping options for early birds, as well as motorcycle exhibitions and a bike-centric vendor village throughout the festival. With similar events like FarmBorough and Big Barrel making the decision to pull the plug after promising starts in 2015, Lost Highway — which launched last year, joining a particularly crowded market of summertime country music festivals — is now approaching its second birthday with far less competition.
