‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’: The Ultimate ‘Get the F—k Out’ Supercut
It’s been 15 years since Curb Your Enthusiasm first winced its way onto HBO, and the eight seasons that followed have seen Larry David burn so many bridges that America’s infrastructure may never recover. A curmudgeonly force of nature who’s endowed with the social grace of a tornado — Larry was last seen accusing showbiz saint Michael J. Fox of using Parkinson’s Disease as an excuse to harass him — the Seinfeld co-creator has been responsible for some of the most cringe-worthy meta-moments in TV history.
But there’s no one who Larry has tortured more than Susie Greene (Susie Essman), a woman with a mouth as foul as a sewer but a heart that’s almost as big as her temper. The on-again, off-again wife of Larry’s best friend Jeff (played by Jeff Garlin), Susie’s impatience for our antihero’s bullshit has made her the closest thing the show has to a moral center.
In celebration of the show’s anniversary, Rolling Stone cut together this brief tribute to HBO’s most incompatible duo (sorry, Games of Thrones‘ Ramsay Snow and Theon Greyjoy; you ran a close second). Ever wanted to see a supercut of Susie screaming bloody murder at Larry? Your dreams are about come true.
And though Curb‘s future remains unclear — when asked about a potential ninth season at the New Yorker festival last year, David gave a firm “Eh, if I feel like it” — this fond look back at the many, many times Susie told her foil to get the fuck out of her house is proof enough that the show had a prett-ay, prett-ay good run.
