Watch John Krasinski, Kimmel’s Outlandish Christmas Prank War
Four years ago, John Krasinski and Jimmy Kimmel began a hilarious holiday tradition: pranking each other with outlandish stunts and showing the results on national television. But their playful rivalry took a leap into the absurd on Tuesday, highlighted by a half-naked Santa and an awkward celebrity yard sale.
First, Krasinski throws to footage from a Tuesday sneak attack, with a crotch-exposed Santa harnessed and dangled in front of the host’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! office window. “What the fuck is going on here?” Kimmel asks in the clip. (“That was much more graphic than it appeared on television,” Krasinski adds.)
Another flashback clip shows Kimmel returning to his dressing room to encounter weird smells and sounds emanating from his bathroom. After opening the door, he encounters a reindeer, tagged as a present from his “secret Santa.” “That thing crapped all over my bathroom,” Kimmel says, reflecting on the scene.
Finally, Krasinski and a crew of helpers transform Kimmel’s office into a snow-riddled North Pole filled with presents and fake polar bears. Disguised in a nutcracker costume, Krasinski jumps out to scare the host.
But Kimmel adds a personal touch with his revenge prank, creating fliers for a “celebrity yard sale” at Krasinski’s house. The fake event – scheduled to begin December 16th at 6 a.m. at the actor’s home – teased “memorabilia, sex toys, appliances and autographed items,” and Kimmel’s team posted the ads all over Los Angeles, including UCLA and the La Brea Tar Pits. “The good news is, you’re going to have an early morning tomorrow, John, at 6 a.m.,” Kimmel cracked. “And sometimes they show up early.”
