Watch Demi Lovato’s Chilling, Cathartic ‘Stone Cold’ Video
Demi Lovato scales a mountain and washes away the pain of a lost love in the powerful new video for “Stone Cold.”
The clip alternates between gritty, handheld shots of the distraught pop star fully clothed in a bathtub, and vast epic ones that capture her trudging up a snow-covered peak. The imagery is simple, but poignant, like “Stone Cold” itself, and most importantly places Lovato’s stunning vocal performance at the forefront.
“Stone Cold” marks the third single off Lovato’s 2015 album, Confident, following the title-track and “Cool for the Summer.” The singer is set to kick off a massive North American tour in support of the album on June 24th at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida that will stretch through the summer and wrap September 17th at the Forum in Los Angeles. The Future Now Tour also boasts Nick Jonas as co-headliner.
Lovato has been busy in the lead-up to her trek, recently paying tribute to Lionel Richie at the Grammys and imitating everyone from Fetty Wap to Christina Aguilera on The Tonight Show. The singer has also been speaking out on behalf of rape victims and voicing her support for Kesha amidst her ongoing legal battle with Dr. Luke over allegations that he raped and abused her.
“It baffles me that when it comes to serious issues like equality and abuse, too often women are not taken as seriously as men,” she wrote on Instagram. “All I want to see is women coming together and actually making a difference. A real change and shift in society.”
