Barack Obama Declares Kendrick Lamar Better Than Drake
Barack Obama has proclaimed that Kendrick Lamar is a better rapper than Drake. The President was posed with the question of which hip-hop star he preferred during a YouTube Q&A today. Watch the interview above, with the Lamar versus Drake question occurring around the 27:00 mark.
“Gotta go with Kendrick,” Obama said after YouTube personality Adande Thorne, known on the video streaming platform as sWooZie, showed him a side-by-side photo of the two rappers. “I think Drake is an outstanding entertainer, Kendrick… his lyrics, his last album, was outstanding. Best album, I think, of last year.”
Obama’s love for Lamar and his music have been well-documented. In December, he revealed that “How Much a Dollar Cost” was his favorite song of 2015. Footage of a meeting the pair had in the Oval Office was recently released as well, which promoted the Pay It Forward program that encouraged the mentoring of inner city youth.
In the same YouTube Q&A, Obama revealed that if he had to be any Star Wars character, he would be Han Solo. “He’s a little bit of a rebel,” the President explains.
