‘With Bob and David’ Drop New Police Brutality Sketch
The Mr. Show non-reunion With Bob and David will arrive on Netflix November 13th, and after debuting their “Resolutions,” the comedy series shared another new sketch titled “Know Your Rights.”
As Vulture notes, With Bob and David‘s latest sketch – which doesn’t feature Bob Odenkirk – is a twisted version of the popular Know Your Rights video where a state law-savvy citizen schools a bully police officer in his rights upon being pulled over. In the sketch, David Cross plays Gilvin Daughtry, the leader of Citizens Against Unlawful Abuse!!! who has the misfortune – for his YouTube channel, anyway – of being stopped at a sobriety checkpoint by a overly congenial cop played by Keegan-Michael Key.
“Know Your Rights” Go-Pro-documents Daughtry’s repeated attempts to force a confrontation between himself and the officer, from putting alcohol on his breath to smashing his own taillight. When Daughtry applies blackface to prove that “every race in America has equal rights,” however, the situation escalates to pepper spray and tasing.
