‘Jurassic Park’ Returning to Big Screen With Live Orchestra
Jurassic Park will roar back onto the big screen this November accompanied by a live orchestra to spotlight composer John Williams‘ Grammy-nominated score. Film Concerts Live, the production company that previously synced films like Back to the Future, Home Alone and West Side Story with a live orchestra, will next give the Steven Spielberg-directed Michael Crichton adaptation a similar multisensory experience.
For Jurassic Park In Concert, the dinosaur blockbuster will project in full HD at concert halls across the globe while a full symphony orchestra provide a live feel to Williams’ score. Jurassic Park marks the third Spielberg film to come alive via Film Concerts Live: The company previously employed a live orchestra for showings of Raiders of the Lost Ark (currently on tour) and E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial, both of which featured a Williams score.
Tour dates for Jurassic Park In Concert have not yet been announced but a November 1st premiere date is scheduled.
The announcement of the Jurassic Park In Concert performances comes just days after Williams received his 50th Academy Award nomination, this time for his Star Wars: The Force Awakens score. A five-time Oscar winner, Williams most recently took home the Best Original Score award for 1993’s Schindler’s List.
Previously, Film Concerts Live produced a Back to the Future performance that featured 15 minutes of unheard additional music written by composer Alan Silvestri specifically for the engagements.
