CMA Music Fest Begins: The Ram Report
They call it “country music’s biggest party,” and it’s certainly also the most unique festival of any music genre. CMA Music Fest begins today (June 9th), boasting literally hundreds of performances all over downtown Nashville, as well as autograph signings, intimate Q-and-A sessions, fan club parties and plenty of opportunities for fans to get up close and personal with their favorite artists.
The four-day festival is also Nashville’s biggest tourist attraction. Some 85,000 people are expected to attend each day of the massive event. The music starts at 10:00 a.m. with artists performing on a barge in the Cumberland River. That’s where the likes of Jake Owen, A Thousand Horses, Maddie & Tae, Brothers Osborne, Brandy Clark, Maren Morris and Kellie Pickler will play. Performances continue all day long at various venues and outdoor stages, capping each day with huge shows across the river at Nissan Stadium, where the Tennessee Titans play. Artists to take that late night stage include Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Little Big Town, Miranda Lambert, Eric Church and Luke Bryan, just to name a few.
CMA Music Fest not only brings big revenue to Nashville, but also gives its proceeds to a great cause. Money from ticket sales goes toward music education programs for kids across the country.
