Craig Morgan on ‘Sexy’ New Album: The Ram Report
“Some people say it’s a love song, I say it’s a sexy song,” Craig Morgan insists of his latest single, “I’ll Be Home Soon.” “It’s a super sexy, feel-good, emotional, heart-driven song. Regardless of how old you are, it’s a song you can relate to if you have someone you care about.”
In fact, the country hitmaker’s latest album as a whole can be described similarly: cosmically relatable and super sexy. A Whole Lot More to Me hit stores today (June 3th) and arguably shows Morgan’s romantic side more so than any other album in his catalog. Both lyrically and sonically, it’s more mature material — which was important for the singer, but equally as important was appealing to the wide spectrum of country radio listeners.
“I don’t care what age you are, it’s difficult to find music that’s age appropriate but that is also relatable to those who are younger or older,” he says. “I think of Taylor Swift. It’s hard for Taylor to sing a song that a 40-year-old woman can relate to, you would think, but she manages to do it. Because as age appropriate as it may be for her, it’s material appropriate for the listener — and that’s difficult to do. And I feel like that’s what I’ve done on this record.”
