Timbaland Unveils ‘King Stays King’ U.S. Tour Dates
Timbaland is embarking on a winter tour in support of his King Stays King mixtape, which he released for free on Christmas day. It features collaborations with Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan, Mila J and Blaze, along with a previously unreleased Aaliyah song, “Shakin.” As Idolator reports, the 21-date trek launches on Friday at Bliss in Washington, D.C. and culminates at LIV in Miami on February 28th.
“It’s been a while since I’ve been able to give the world some new music,” the producer said about the new mixtape in a statement. “I’ve spent a lot of time working on this project and I am just looking forward to giving my fans some dope sounds to close out the year.”
Timbaland also released his The Emperor of Sound memoir last fall. In the candid tome he made several revelations, including discussing the depression he suffered following Aaliyah’s death, his love of Rod Stewart, that he was in a group with Pharrell and reflections on Jay Z’s “Big Pimpin'” and Justin Timberlake’s “What Goes Around… Comes Around.”
