Watch Justin Bieber’s Vibrant Billboard Music Awards Performance
Justin Bieber performed a medley of new single “Company” with his hit “Sorry” at the Billboard Music Awards Sunday night. Both songs appear on his fourth album Purpose, released last November.
Bieber emerged onstage bathed in aqua club lighting singing “Company” with a phalanx of background dancers and acrobats dressed in white. The smooth set came to a climax once trumpets signaled Bieber’s chart-crushing hit “Sorry.” The singer knelt to shake hands with fans, with whom he has had a rocky relationship with this past month.
Earlier this year, Bieber took home his first Grammy award for Best Dance Recording alongside Jack Ü for their inescapable collaboration “Where Are Ü Now.” At the ceremony, Bieber, Skrillex and Diplo turned the song into a rock jam with the EDM superproducers moving from behind the boards to behind guitars and drums.
Bieber is currently in the midst of his Purpose world tour. Within the first couple weeks of being on the road, he canceled all future fan meet-and-greets for the current tour, revealing that they left hi “drained and unhappy.” For similar reasons, Bieber has also revealed that he will no longer take photos with fans who see or meet him in public, stating that it makes him feel like a “zoo animal.”
