Watch Adele Debut ’25’ Songs at Intimate Pre-Grammy Concert
With Adele set to perform on the Grammys on February 15th – and with her 25 tour beginning in just over two weeks – the singer staged a warm-up show Friday for 2,000 lucky fans at Los Angeles’ Wiltern Theatre. The pre-Grammy tune-up featured the live debut of 25‘s “I Miss You,” as well as the second-ever performances of “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” and “All I Ask.” Adele also filmed the audience serenading her with “Hello” and used concertgoers’ phones to take selfies before the evening’s final song, “Rolling in the Deep.”
Adele’s sold-out trek found the singer engaging in a battle against the secondary ticket market, and during the Wiltern concert, Adele remarked that she again fought to keep ticket prices for Friday’s gig at $50; in an effort to prevent scalping, attendees were forced to pick up their tickets at the Wiltern box office.
“Sorry if it was a pain in the ass getting the tickets,” Adele told the audience (via Billboard). “Did any of you pay more than $50 for any of these tickets? They were all saying ‘Oh let’s do $150 a ticket, oh yeah! So and so said that…’ I said $50.” Adele then admitted she would have charged even less but “my record label is paying for this.”
Adele also said that the evening’s 15-song set list and bare-bones stage design was crafted strictly for the Wiltern performance and doesn’t signal what she has planned when her 25 tour kicks off February 29th in Belfast.
