Punisher, Elektra Debut in ‘Daredevil’ Season Two Trailer
Mild-mannered lawyer Matt Murdock and his costumed alter ego finds himself facing a few new enemies (and some old fan favorites) in the first teaser for Season Two of Marvel and Netflix‘s Daredevil.
The new 30-second clip premiered during a panel at New York Comic Con and is now available to watch on the show’s Facebook. Following a minute-and-a-half Season One highlight reel, the clip reopens to find Murdock (Charlie Cox), his partner Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and client/love-interest Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) mourning silently in church pews. The blind lawyer-turned-crime fighter asks Father Lantom in a voice over, “Why do I still feel guilty?”
As Lantom offers his empowering reply — “Guilt can be a good thing: It’s the soul’s call to action, the indication that your work is not yet finished” — the clip offers a peak at the action to come. Not only do fans get to see Murdock in the fresh Daredevil suit he debuted in last season’s finale, the clip notably offers the first glimpses of some of Season Two’s major additions — Elektra (Elodie Yung) and The Punisher (The Walking Dead‘s Jon Bernthal).
Daredevil is set to return to Netflix in 2016, though an official premiere date has yet to be announced.
Daredevil marked the first installment in Marvel and Netflix’s Defenders franchise. The streaming service and comics giant will debut their next project, Jessica Jones, on November 20th. Individual series for Iron Fist and Luke Cage are in the works too, as is an Avengers-style miniseries featuring all four heroes.
