Kacey Musgraves Announces New U.S. Tour Dates
Kacey Musgraves will ring in the New Year by adding several dates to her headlining tour, the Kacey Musgraves Country & Western Rhinestone Revue. The next leg of the wildly successful trek kicks off January 21st in Dallas and wraps up in Kansas City, Missouri, on March 5th.
Musgraves began the glitzy, western-themed tour in August, with stops in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Detroit and a two-night stint at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium among the earliest dates. Her Music City shows included surprise appearances from Sheryl Crow and musician Buddy Miller. By the time the first leg had wrapped last week in Amsterdam, the “Dime Store Cowgirl” singer had visited six counties, including England, Ireland, Scotland, Germany and the Netherlands. As a testament to her increasingly global popularity, all of Musgraves’ European stops on the tour were sold out.
While her show’s set list includes material from the Grammy-winning Same Trailer Different Park and her most recent LP, Pageant Material, Musgraves notes that the versions concertgoers are treated to have a different vibe onstage than on record.
“Die Fun” from the latter LP has “grown into a more jammy kind of thing,” Musgraves tells Rolling Stone Country. “We kind of jam out on that one; that’s a little different than on the record. ‘Dime Store Cowgirl,’ same thing. I love the record versions a lot, but it’s always fun to see them take on a new persona in the live show.”
