Watch Foo Fighters Perform With Stevie Nicks, Haim in Los Angeles
Foo Fighters began their two-night stand at Inglewood, California’s the Forum Monday night with a pair of special guests: Stevie Nicks and her fellow “sisters of the moon” Haim. Nicks first sang lead on “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around,” her Bella Donna duet with Tom Petty, with Grohl handling the Petty part from atop his giant throne and Haim providing background vocals on the chorus.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I don’t want to leave until we at least do this,” Grohl told the Forum crowd as the band mounted a wall of feedback that morphed into a feverish rendition of Rumours‘ “Gold Dust Woman,” NME reports. The performance marked the second formation of a “superdupergroup” for the Foo Fighters, who recently welcomed Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones and Queen’s Roger Taylor onstage during a U.K. gig to perform Queen and David Bowie’s “Under Pressure.”
Nicks and the Mac-influenced Haim first met in September 2014 at the singer’s Los Angeles home prior to Fleetwood Mac’s fall tour, their first trek with Christine McVie in 16 years. During the hangout session, Nicks and Haim teamed up for a sparse “Rhiannon” and talked about Nicks’ long career in rock. The sisters and Nicks reunited Monday at the Forum, with Nicks gifting them their own “magical” scarves:
