Hear Snoop Dogg, Pharrell Serve Up Delectable ‘Peaches N Cream’
After forays into the worlds of reggae and funk as Snoop Lion and Snoopzilla, Snoop Dogg has reclaimed his original name and returned to his hip-hop roots with the release of “Peaches N Cream,” the first single from his new album, Bush.
Pharrell Williams produced the entire LP, with “Peaches” boasting yet another sultry, neo-disco beat in line with the hitmaker’s recent output. Snoop sounds as deft on the mic as ever, paying tribute to the classiest girl in the club in his classic G-funk flow before getting an assist from R&B legend Charlie Wilson on a hook that would make P-Funk proud.
Snoop will release Bush on May 12th via his own Doggy Style Records, Pharrell’s i am OTHER label and Columbia Records. The album is available to pre-order now and comes with an instant download of “Peaches N Cream.”
The rapper has been teasing the Pharrell-produced Bush for several months, revealing in January that the LP would feature a guest appearance by Stevie Wonder. Pharrell and Snoop’s previous collaborations have been incredibly fruitful, including the Top 10 hit “Beautiful” (also featuring Charlie Wilson), and the Number One song “Drop It Like It’s Hot.”
In other Snoop news, the rapper was selected to helm this year’s keynote conversation at the South by Southwest conference in Austin, Texas. Snoop will take the lectern on Friday, March 20th at 11 a.m. CT in Ballroom A of the Austin Convention Center. The event will be open to all Music and Platinum registrants and registered showcasing artists.
Last year’s SXSW keynote was delivered by Lady Gaga, while Dave Grohl and Bruce Springsteen addressed the conference in 2013 and 2012, respectively.
