Check Out Ronda Rousey’s New Mural in Venice Beach
Ronda Rousey already has the UFC Women’s Bantamweight title, more than $3 million in endorsement deals, an undefeated record and a life-sized Pikachu costume. Now, she has a mural, too.
In honor of all her accomplishments – and, we would imagine, to hype her November 14 fight with Holly Holm at UFC 193 – UFC’s Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta recently commissioned a painting of Rousey in her hometown of Venice, California. And on Friday, they unveiled it to the champ (and her dog, Mochi).
BTW, the fact that it’s located directly above a giant “Green Doctors” storefront (“$40 Medical Marijuana Evaluation!”) is the most Venice Beach thing of all time.
The mural was painted by the Brazilian artists known as Bicicleta Sem Freio – who apparently didn’t have a problem with her knocking out their countrywoman, Bethe Correia, in 34 seconds – and is meant to “explore and interpret her power as a fighter and also her awesomeness as a young woman.”

“She is almost like a comics hero,” the artists said in a statement. “We are fans of Ronda. Her last fight was in Rio against a Brazilian fighter, and despite that, everyone loves her in Brazil. What is really fascinating about Ronda, besides being an undefeated fighter and also being very secure of her femininity, is that she looks real and authentic. She looks like a really cool girl. We would love if she could learn us a few fighting tricks!”
So would we! And, for those keeping score at home, this is apparently Rousey’s second mural in Venice Beach. It’s only a matter of time before they give her the keys to the city.
