Big Sean, Grimes, TV on the Radio Set for Red Bull Sound Select L.A.
Big Sean, Grimes, TV on the Radio, Vince Staples and many more will appear as part of Red Bull Sound Select Presents: 30 Days in LA, set to take place throughout Los Angeles this November.
The series kicks off November 1st with “Wax on Wax,” a vinyl DJ night and record swap meet at — fittingly — Madame Tussauds Hollywood, featuring local record stores Amoeba Music, the Record Parlour and Origami Vinyl, plus four dance parties hosted by various Sound Select curators. Grimes and Nicole Dollanganger — the first artist signed to the Canadian pop artist’s new Eerie Organization co-op — will perform the following night at The Mayan.
Other notable shows include: Joey Bada$$, G Herbo and Warm Brew at the Belasco Theater on November 4th; Chromeo, Cakes Da Killa, the Suffers and Pearl Charles at Mack Sennett Studios on November 6th; TV on the Radio and Gallant at the Theatre at Ace Hotel on November 14th; No Age, In the Whale and So Pitted at the Echo on November 18th; Big Sean, Mick Jenkins and Finding Novyon at Hollywood Palladium on November 21st; and Vince Staples, Loaf Muzik and Martin $ky at the El Rey Theatre on November 24th. The series concludes November 30th with a secret show at the Teragram Ballroom.
A complete schedule of concerts is below, while other events such as films and discussions are listed on the Sound Select website. Like last year’s inaugural festival, 30 Days in L.A. will also include a number of surprise guests and collaborations.
This year’s Red Bull Sound Select artists was curated by different organizations and groups from across the U.S., including Afropunk, Chicago’s Fake Shore Drive, radio station KCRW and Sub Pop records. Tickets for every show cost $15, though fans must sign up for Red Bull Sound Select, which is free. Tickets are limited to two per night, per person.
