Run the Jewels Revisit Yearlong Tour with ‘Angel Duster’ Video
To mark the one-year anniversary of Run the Jewels‘ Run the Jewels 2 – Rolling Stone‘s Best Rap Album of 2014 – Killer Mike and El-P thanked their “Jewel Runners” fan base for the album’s success with a new video for the LP’s closing cut “Angel Duster.” The duo have toured relentlessly in support of RTJ2 since its arrival, and those months on the road are documented in the Ryosuke Tanzawa-directed video. “Here’s what RTJ’s last 365 days have been like,” the duo tweeted.
The video features a handful of Run the Jewels‘ music festival stops, including performances in front of packed pits at Bonnaroo, Pitchfork Festival, Life Is Beautiful, Rock en Seine, Red Bull and Atlanta’s Music Midtown. The video – which is dedicated to late keyboardist Isaiah “Ikey” Owens, who appeared on the studio version of “Angel Duster” – also features cameos by RTJ2 contributors like Travis Barker and Zack de la Rocha as well as Nas, who went into the studio with the duo in August.
Run the Jewels also recently released their cat-sampling Run the Jewels 2 remix album Meow the Jewels, with proceeds going to the families of Eric Garner and Michael Brown
