Watch Harrison Ford Recreate ‘Star Wars’ Injury With Han Solo Doll
Last summer, during filming for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Harrison Ford suffered the most badass injury in Hollywood history when a piece of the Millennium Falcon fell off and broke his leg. The actor – who is reprising his iconic role as Han Solo in the J.J. Abrams-helmed sequel – joked with Jimmy Fallon about the setback during Tuesday’s Tonight Show, recreating the injury (with added menace) on a Han Solo doll.
“They closed the fucking door on me!” Ford yells in the clip, feigning extreme anger toward Abrams about the injury, which put the heavily anticipated film on a two-month shooting hiatus. “They dislocated the ankle forward, and they broke his leg!” Ford screams, smashing the Solo doll into pieces – despite Fallon insisting that the toy is “worth a lot of money.”
The interview – punctuated by spit-takes and Fallon’s wheezing laughter – takes a surreal detour after Ford’s tantrum results in a half-naked doll. “Congratulations!” Fallon enthuses, gesturing at the doll’s anatomically incorrect crotch. “Let’s not talk about that accident!” Ford cracks. That’s what you get for having an amateur mohel.”
Fallon admits he “got chills in certain areas” after glimpsing Ford reprising his trademark character. “Did you get emotional when you put the wardrobe on?” the host asks, but the actor fires back with the unsentimental, “No, I got paid!”
