Justin Bieber Is Very Sad Conor McGregor Lost
Nobody thought Nate Diaz would defeat Conor McGregor at UFC 196 – and that includes Floyd Mayweather’s best bud, Justin Bieber.
Despite making the jump from Featherweight to Welterweight, McGregor was the heavy favorite against Diaz heading into their Saturday night fight. Much of that had to do with McGregor’s recent run of destruction through the UFC ranks, though the fact that Diaz had less than two weeks to prepare for the fight didn’t hurt, either.
None of that mattered, however, because Diaz proved to be too much for McGregor to handle when he served “The Notorious” the first defeat of his UFC career by submission in the second round. That prompted many to take shots at McGregor for talking the talk but not walking the walk, while others – like Bieber – were left piecing their broken hearts back together.
“No bandwagon but Conor is a true champion, fights with style and finesse, all the respect to Nate but his style is terrible,” Bieber wrote on Instagram. “Nate has crazy heart respect.”
This is noteworthy, considering Bieber’s friendship with Mayweather, who engaged in a war of words with McGregor earlier this year. The good news for Bieber? McGregor promises he’ll be back soon. It won’t likely be against someone in the Welterweight division – although, he wouldn’t be opposed to it – but Jose Aldo calling him a “pussy” is probably all the motivation McGregor needs to fight sooner rather than later.
