Watch Ellie Goulding’s ‘Powerful’ Performance at Apple Music Festival
The Apple Music Festival is in the middle of its 10-night take over at London’s Roundhouse. Ellie Goulding kicked off the festival on September 19th with special guest Andra Day.
Goulding played a selection of her solo and collaborative hits, but the biggest treat for her fans was the live debut of her single “On My Mind.” The fun, infectious track off her upcoming album Delirium — out November 6th — debuted last week and was followed up by a very Western-influenced video that premiered yesterday.
Goulding’s soulful Major Lazer collaboration “Powerful” was also included in the set. Her performance of the DJ trio’s latest single was accompanied by an entrancing light show.
She capped off her set with the her romantic, breezy hit “Love Me Like You Do,” a triumphant end to her inaugural performance for the festival.
While Apple Music Festival takes place in London, it is being broadcast across the world. Take That performed with special guest Charlie Puth at Roundhouse on September 20th while Carrie Underwood took the stage last night. Still to come are One Direction, the Weeknd, the Chemcial Brothers, Disclosure, Pharrell, Mumford & Sons and Florence and the Machine. Openers will include Little Mix, Leon Bridges and James Bay.
Originally called the iTunes Music Festival, the Apple Music Festival launched in 2007 with performances from Amy Winehouse, Imogen Heap, Mika and more. Last year, headliners included Beck, David Guetta, Sam Smith, Robert Plant, Jessie Ware and Mary J. Blige.
