Watch Miley, Billy Ray Cyrus Cover Def Leppard With Steel Panther
Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus helped make the West Hollywood House of Blues’ final show even more explosive when they joined glam metal jokesters Steel Panther for a cover of Def Leppard‘s “Pour Some Sugar on Me.”
The father/daughter pair attended the historic venue’s farewell show, which was livestreamed on Yahoo. Steel Panther invited the singers up and helped prod the duo into belting out the hair metal classic. While Billy Ray practiced his best air guitar moves, Miley strutted across the stage, with both Cyrus members helping the band sing the chorus.
The Cyrus family weren’t the only guests Steel Panther invited onstage to help them say goodbye to the venue where they got their start. ‘NSync’s Joey Fatone insisted that he could sing a Backstreet Boys song “better” than the original group during a riff-off. Musical comedy duo Ninja Sex Party and comedian Dane Cook also made surprise appearances.
Steel Panther have played the House of Blues in West Hollywood since they launched in the early Aughts. Much like their final Monday night show at the venue, the glam metal parody band have been known to bring out huge musical guests during their gigs.
Miley Cyrus has kept busy this year with her hefty charity work, launching the Happy Hippie Foundation in early May to provide support to at-risk homeless youth. She’s raised awareness for her foundation with a series of covers featuring friends like Joan Jett and Ariana Grande as well as the ‘InstaPride‘ campaign, where she took portraits of transgender and gender expansive youth.
