Rachel Reinert Announces Departure From Gloriana
And then there were two: Gloriana singer Rachel Reinert took to social media to announce her departure from the country group, leaving brothers Tom and Mike Gossin to presumably carry on as a duo.
Reinert announced her decision via Twitter, writing, “It has been such an incredible ride and I have so many beautiful memories that I will cherish for a lifetime.” She revealed that she has begun “working on the next chapter of my life as a solo country artist” and will be writing and recording her album during the first part of 2016. No mention of Reinert’s departure is made on the group’s Twitter page.
This marks the second time a Gloriana member has broken ties with the group. The band’s mandolin player/vocalist Cheyenne Kimball left in July 2011 after just one LP. Formed in 2008 as a quartet, the group released their self-titled full-length debut in August 2009, one month after their debut single “Wild at Heart” reached the Top 20. Gloriana landed at the Number Two spot on Billboard‘s Top Country Albums and one position lower on the multi-genre Billboard 200. They were named Breakthrough Artist of the Year for 2009 at the American Music Awards and the ACM’s Top New Vocal Group in 2010.
Exactly one year after Kimball’s departure, the then-trio’s second LP A Thousand Miles Left Behind was issued. It featured the group’s biggest hit, the million-selling “(Kissed You) Good Night,” which reached Number Two on the country chart. The trio’s Three hit stores in June 2015 and featured just one chart hit, “Trouble,” which reached the Top 30 at country radio a year earlier. In 2014, they joined Sheryl Crow on Rascal Flatts’ Rewind Tour.
