Courtney Love Snarls on New Track ‘Miss Narcissist’
Singing in operas, appearing on Empire and touring with Lana Del Rey aren’t the only things Courtney Love has been working on lately. Wavves’ Ghost Ramp label has dropped a new track by the Hole singer called “Miss Narcissist.” Though not much is known about the raucous track, Ghost Ramp will release the new Love song as a seven-inch single backed with unreleased track titled “Radio Killer” in the near future. “Miss Narcissist” is available now as a digital download through the Ghost Ramp store, Stereogum reports.
“Miss Narcissist, come on / Magnificent and obvious / Bless us with your presence / And your paranoia,” Love snarls on the biting, grungy rocker. “Miss Narcissist, she’s a thief / sucks out all the energy.” The single’s artwork, hand-drawn by Love herself, plays on the song’s theme as a nude woman (resembling Love) is shown embracing her own reflection in a cracked mirror.
Love has yet to comment on her new song on social media, though she has been generous with photos of her and Del Rey culled from their current joint tour. Love also recently contributed the song “Walk Out on Me” to the Empire soundtrack. The singer, who recently admitted that she was “not that interested in doing music right,” last released a non-soundtrack single in April 2014 with “You Know My Name.”
