Eric Church, Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson to Headline American Roots Fest
The first-ever American Roots Festival has revealed its country-leaning inaugural lineup. The two-day festival, which will take place October 17th and 18th in Raleigh, North Carolina, will feature big-name headliners including Eric Church, Willie Nelson and Sheryl Crow. The initial festival lineup also includes a wide-ranging group of acts, including Chris Stapleton, the Roots and Modest Mouse, alongside jam-band festival regulars like Warren Haynes, Grace Potter, and Tedeschi Trucks Band.
In an unusual move for the typical summer music festival, headlining home-state hero Eric Church will be performing both nights of the two-day event. Additional acts will be announced in the coming weeks.
Raleigh’s Walnut Creek Ampitheatre will host the American Roots fest, and will feature a wide array of local food and crafts throughout the weekend. Tickets go on sale Monday, August 10th at 10.am. Various V.I.P. and travel packages are also available for purchase. Visit www.AmericanRootsFest.com for more information.
The October doubleheader is just one of a handful of show dates left on Church’s 2015 calendar, as he takes a bit of a break to craft new music for his follow-up album to the award-winning The Outsiders LP. He debuted a new tune (which may or may not show up on the track list), “Three Year Old” at his solo gig christening Nashville’s new Ascend Amphitheater last week. The father of a toddler and infant sons who inspired the tune, Church will also celebrate the opening of his own exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum this fall.
