Watch Raekwon, Snoop Dogg Go Back to Basics for ‘1,2 1,2’ Video
Raekwon and Snoop Dogg keep it simple in the clip for their tough new collaboration “1,2 1,2.” The single is off Raekwon‘s oft-delayed solo release Fly International Luxurious Art, which came out in late April.
In the new video, the two rappers are joined by producer Scoop DeVille and Chi-Town Finest Breakers in front a white screen. The visuals, like its accompanying track, has an old-school feel, aided by young dancers sporting Adidas track suits. Some playful scenes show Snoop getting his nails done in a leopard-print chair while Raekwon gets his head shaved.
Fly International Luxurious Art (F.I.L.A.) had initially been announced in January 2013. Though it was near completion at the time, Raekwon decided to shift focus to Wu-Tang Clan’s 2014 LP A Better Tomorrow instead.
While promoting the new material, Raekwon has also been involved in more nostalgic endeavors. He’s been preparing a behind-the-scenes documentary called The Purple Tapes, which will dive into the making of his 1995 classic Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. Fans can donate to the film through a FanBacked site offering donation incentives ranging from a personal mixtape review by Raekwon to studio time with the Wu-Tang member.
“Our vision for the film is for it to be as honest as possible, removing the filter from both ourselves and participants,” the rapper told Rolling Stone. “Beyond revealing untold information about the project and how it was created, the film will also bring to life the actual movie that happens within the album.”
Raekwon also announced a 32-date joint tour with Ghostface Killah to celebrate Cuban Linx’s anniversary.
