Watch Wiz Khalifa Give Adele’s ‘Hello’ a Stoner ‘Twist’
During a stop at Los Angeles’ Power 106, rapper Wiz Khalifa gave a stoner “twist” to Adele‘s massive comeback single “Hello.”
Radio host J Cruz inquired if Khalifa can write to any beat. “I have to feel it,” the rapper responds. To test it out, Cruz began playing Adele‘s hit. As the song hits the chorus, Khalifa sings about his smoking habits over the instrumental. “Roll one up and lets get high,” he belts. “I am trying to get fried.”
After he sings over the song for about a minute, Cruz asks for Khalifa to name the remix. “What’s her song called?” he responds. In the end, he decides to name his updated version “Hella Os.”
Back in 2013, while Adele was still on a musical hiatus, Khalifa had teased a collaboration with the singer, telling Fuse that he had recorded a song with her for Blacc Hollywood. In 2014, he had confirmed that it had since been scrapped. “It’s a cross between [the sounds of] right now and the Sixties and Seventies,” he told Fuse. “It’s really hippie. That went everywhere after we talked about it. We still have the record. I just hope that we can put it in the album or maybe we can make something else, too.”
