Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ Concert Film Coming to Apple Music
Taylor Swift wrapped up her massive, star-studded 1989 World Tour in Melbourne, Australia Saturday, just a day before she turned 26. As a birthday gift to fans, the singer announced that she’ll release a new concert film – Taylor Swift: The 1989 World Tour – exclusively to Apple Music starting December 20th. Directed by music video vet Jonas Akerlund, the concert film was recorded at Swift’s November 28th concert at Sydney, Australia’s ANZ Stadium.
“Getting ready for this, I wondered about a lot of things. I wondered what it would be like to perform for 70,000 people,” Swift says in the concert film’s trailer. “I wondered what would happened if I invited the most amazing artists in the world to come out with me and perform on my stage, would they do it?” As the trailer shows, all of those all-star onstage cameos – from Mick Jagger and Steven Tyler in Nashville to Beck and St. Vincent in Los Angeles– will appear in Taylor Swift: The 1989 World Tour, along with other never-before-seen footage from backstage and rehearsals.
The concert film renews Swift’s relationship with Apple Music, a partnership that finds the service as the lone streaming provider of her 1989.
