Noel Gallagher Chronicles Tour in ‘Lock All the Doors’ Video
Noel Gallagher crafts no-nonsense rock and roll, and his video for High Flying Birds‘ “Lock All the Doors” takes a similar approach. The frenetic clip follows Gallagher and his band at every vantage point across a concert tour: backstage, in the dressing room, signing autographs and performing onstage.
One segment features behind-the-scenes footage from Gallagher’s June appearance on The Late Late Show With James Corden, where the former Oasis guitarist performed “Lock All the Doors” and delivered his usual quota of interview hilarity. When not venting about the absurdity of hot dogs and dishing on pre-Oasis-show fights with brother Liam, Gallagher expanded on his recent comments to Rolling Stone about former One Direction member Zayn Malik.
“They’ve only got, at most, five years left,” Gallagher said of the group. “Just stand in the back, smoke weed, get laid and pick the check up.”
Gallagher released Chasing Yesterday, his second semi-solo LP since Oasis’ 2009 demise, earlier this year. In May, the rocker told Rolling Stone about the album while also expressing his confusion over Malik’s One Direction split and slamming opponents of gay marriage.
Rolling Stone subsequently gifted the musician with a “Best Rock Interview” Award. “This is unbelievable,” Gallagher said. “As you can clearly see, I’m overwhelmed by this. I’d like to thank my mum for giving me a belligerent attitude. I’d also like to thank my dad for giving me probably the rudest tongue in all of rock interview. I’d also like to thank my wife and children for putting up with this nonsense when I’m off camera and Rolling Stone for this award, which is quite exceptional. Long may it continue.”
