Watch Caitlyn Jenner Tease ‘I Am Cait’ Series: ‘I Am Telling My Story’
Caitlyn Jenner promises to “tell [her] story” in a new promotional video for the upcoming documentary series I Am Cait. The clip finds Jenner embracing her family, riding a motorcycle and going about her daily life. “People don’t understand looking into the mirror and nothing seems right, putting on clothes that you just really don’t identify with,” she says. “This is about getting to be who you really are.”
Jenner says she will “talk about everything” during the series, which premieres July 26th on E! “We’re going to do a lot of fun things for the first time,” she teases. “We’re going to go shopping for the first time. Maybe even some boy stuff, like ride a motorcycle – because girls do that too!”
“It’s going to be quite a journey,” promises Jenner, who came out as a transgender woman during an emotional April interview with Diane Sawyer. “We’re going to do some good.” I Am Cait will feature eight one-hour episodes, following Jenner as she adapts to her new life. Jenner, a former Olympic runner, introduced herself to the world as Caitlyn on the cover of Vanity Fair‘s July issue.
E! previewed the series earlier this month in a separate trailer. “So many people go through life and they never deal with their own issues, no matter what the issues are. Ours happen to be gender identity,” Jenner said in that clip, addressing how her perspective has shifted after transitioning. “You start learning all of the pressure women are under all of the time about their appearance. I never had, until a couple weeks ago, a professional come in and do my makeup. What a difference.”
Next month will be a busy one for Jenner. Prior to the premiere of I Am Cait, she will receive the Arthur Ashe Courage Award on July 15th at this year’s ESPY Awards.
