Lena Dunham Lip Syncs ‘Fat Bottomed Girls’ on ‘Tonight Show’
Lena Dunham brought all her assets to the table in a fierce competition against Jimmy Fallon during a mini Lip Sync Battle against the host on Friday’s Tonight Show. The Girls creator and star won the night while showing a little cheek during her interpretation of Queen’s “Fat Bottomed Girls.”
Fallon began the contest on a tender, reflective note with Charlene’s 1983 hit, “I’ve Never Been to Me.” Lunham countered with a vigorously-choreographed take on “Outside” by Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding. For the second round, Fallon took it back to 1988 with his performance of Run DMC’s “Run’s House,” only to be swept away with Dunham’s panache on the Freddie Mercury classic.
“I just won because I’m the visitor and they wanted to mix it up a little bit,” Dunham said modestly of the audience’s preference in an interview after the contest, while crediting choreographer Celia Rowlson Hall for the success of her dance moves. She also declared her love for Fallon’s new Lip Sync Battle series on Spike, confessing that her dream competitors would be Kendall and Kylie Jenner, as a team. “They can practice as long as they want,” she said. “I respect what they’re doing. I respect what they’re bringing to the game.”
For those who can’t get enough Lip Sync, the show is putting on a free live performance in New York City’s Central Park on July 13th. Host LL Cool J and commentator Chrissy Teigen will lead the festivities; the celebrity participants have not yet been announced. Spike will begin airing the second half of Lip Sync Battle‘s first season on July 9th, and pre-production is already underway for Season Two.
