Watch Ronda Rousey Rip Floyd Mayweather at the ESPYs
Ronda Rousey doesn’t need to be in the ring to throw bone-crushing haymakers at Floyd Mayweather.
There’s no denying that both fighters are two of the best at what they do. After defeating Manny Pacquiao earlier this year, Mayweather has a sparkling 48-0 record on his career. Similarly, after demolishing Cat Zingano in an astonishing 14 seconds, Rousey stands undefeated at 11-0.
And, after so many years of dominance, some have questioned who would stand victorious if the duo stepped into the ring. Ridiculous? Yes. But that didn’t stop people like Pacquiao from speculating on the outcome. And after spending the better part of four years trading barbs with Mayweather, you’ll be shocked to learn that he wants to see his former foe get beat – bad.
“She’s strong and she’s strong enough to beat Floyd Mayweather in MMA,” Pacquiao told ESPN.
Being the good sport she is, Rousey took those comments in full stride and ran with them. In an interview with Access Hollywood earlier this year, she said she doesn’t think her and Mayweather would ever fight unless “we ended up dating,” which was a clear jab at his dark history of domestic violence. Meanwhile, Mayweather denies knowing entirely who “he” is.
But it turns out that Rousey isn’t done. After winning the Best Fighter ESPY on Wednesday – beating out a field that included Mayweather – she hit him where it hurts most.
“I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once,” Rousey said. “I’d like to see him pretend to not know who I am now.”
Here’s the knockout punch. Boom. Well, Floyd, how does it feel?
