Elton John, Mumford & Sons, Black Keys to Headline Outside Lands 2015
Elton John, Mumford & Sons and the Black Keys will headline this summer’s Outside Lands Festival, set to invade San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park August 7th through 9th. Filling out the impressive bill at the eighth annual fest are Kendrick Lamar, Sam Smith, Wilco, Tame Impala, D’Angelo and the Vanguard, St. Vincent, Billy Idol and many more.
The San Francisco’s festival’s eclectic lineup will also feature rockers like Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and fun.’s Nate Ruess, EDM acts like Axwell & Ingrosso, Porter Robinson and Odesza, up-and-coming indie artists Django Django, James Bay, RL Grime and Mac DeMarco and hip-hop artists like DJ Mustard, SZA and Bay Area rapper G-Eazy. Visit the Outside Lands site for the complete lineup, although the fest promises to add more artists in the coming weeks.
Outside Lands also dubs itself “the world’s only gourmet rock festival,” and they’ll keep that tradition alive with six unique culinary areas – A Taste of the Bay Area, Wine Lands, Beer Lands, Choco Lands, Cheese Lands and GastroMagic – that “celebrate Northern California’s rich food and drink culture.” The full assortment of culinary vendors will be announced in the following months.
Tickets for Outside Lands will go on sale at the festival’s official site on March 26th at 10 a.m. PST. As in previous years, a portion of every ticket sold will directly benefit San Francisco’s Recreation and Park Department; the fest has raised nearly $10 million for the department since its inception in 2008.
At press time, Outside Lands marks D’Angelo and the Vanguard’s only U.S. summer performance, while Mumford & Sons, Kendrick Lamar and Ben Harper will all feature at this year’s Bonnaroo festival.
