Go Behind the Scenes of Katy Perry’s Mammoth Prismatic World Tour
Katy Perry just wrapped up the Australian leg of her Prismatic World Tour, which will visit nearly 90 cities over the course of 130 shows by the time it wraps up in March 2015. The endeavor is so massive that it takes 28 semis and 12 buses just to transport the entire stage setup and crew. In this Vevo Tour Exposed video, you can now take a behind-the-scenes look at the Super Bowl XLIX halftime performer‘s incredible trek.
“The name of my tour is the ‘Prismatic World Tour,’ and we’re going all around the world spreading light,” Perry says in the video. “I am involved with every detail of the tour. There are seven sections in the tour and each section is its own different world. So we have the Prismatic section, the Ancient Egyptian section, the hyper-neon section where everything glows. It’s exciting and there are a lot of remixes.”
In addition to checking out the tour’s wardrobe and spaceship set, we also meet various members of the production crew as well as Perry’s opening act Ferras, who signed to Perry’s Metamorphosis Music. However, the real highlight comes when we encounter Butters the dog, who serves as the tour mascot.
The Prismatic World Tour will resume February 16, 2015 with a gig in Barcelona, Spain to kick off the European mainland leg. Before that, on February 1st, the Prism singer will take the stage at Glendale, Arizona’s University of Phoenix Stadium to perform during the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show.
