Watch Taylor Swift Sing ‘Smelly Cat’ With Lisa Kudrow at L.A. Show
Taylor Swift’s 1989 world tour has featured an epic roster of special guests, with names getting bigger and weirder as it’s progressed. For her final show at Los Angeles’ Staples Center, Swift brought out actress Lisa Kudrow, who reprised her famous Friends character Phoebe Buffay.
With acoustic guitar in hand, Swift introduced Kudrow as her fictional character, who appeared onstage to perform Buffay’s song “Smelly Cat” with the singer. Suddenly, Kudrow interrupted Swift to offer some Buffay-esque critiques. “That was good, but you have to really feel the lyrics,” she said to screams and laughs from the audience before showing Swift how it’s best sung.
Friends Justin Timberlake and Selena Gomez also made surprise appearances at the Staples Center show. Timberlake, Swift’s “musical crush,” made his first concert appearance since becoming a first-time father. The pair sang his hit “Mirrors” off The 20/20 Experience.
Gomez and Swift sang the former’s latest single, “Good for You,” which the latter called the “song of the summer.” After the show, Gomez shared a sweet picture of the pair together, acknowledging their long friendship and past career intersections. “After nearly eight years of friendship, I just can’t wait to tell our kids we actually got to perform in front of thousands of insanely beautiful people together twice,” she wrote. “I love you Tay.”
Recently, Swift welcomed Alanis Morissette on stage for “You Oughta Know,” Dixie Chicks’ Natalie Maines for “Goodbye Earl” and another Friends alum, Matt LeBlanc.
