Hear Dave Grohl and Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe Jam a Hardcore Rager
The debut album from the punk and metal supergroup Teenage Time Killers will feature appearances by a dizzying number of guests, including current and former members of Foo Fighters, Slipknot, Dead Kennedys, Fear, Minor Threat and others. “Hung Out to Dry” – the gritty, breakneck-paced first track to come off the album, titled Greatest Hits Vol. 1 – features Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe on lead vocals, Dave Grohl playing bass and Blatant Disarray frontman Mike Schaefer on guitar. The 20-song record, whose track and guest list is below, is due out July 31st.
As previously reported, the central members of the group – who took their name from a song by anarcho-punk spazzos Rudimentary Peni – are Corrosion of Conformity drummer Reed Mullin, My Ruin and Birds of Satan multi-instrumentalist Mick Murphy and producer John “Lou” Lousteau. Together, they worked on original songs and a few covers, including the Rudimentary Peni song, at Grohl’s 606 Studios in Northridge, California.
The group previously released video of themselves recording “Son of an Immigrant,” a track that, as it appears on the album, features Saturday Nite singer Johnny Weber and Bad Religion and Minor Threat guitarist Brian Baker. Mullin’s C.O.C. bandmate Mike Dean – who played bass on the Jello Biafra–sung “Ode to Hannity” – is seen working in the studio with them.
Mullin told Indy Week last year that he’d been discussing doing a TV appearance with the band via Dave Grohl’s management. “We’d maybe do something like Kimmel and have three or four different singers come out at one time, like Jello and Lee Ving, maybe Randy from Lamb of God, something like that,” he said. “All the songs are real short, so we could do, easily, four songs and not go over.”
