Watch Rihanna Prank Sleeping Jimmy Kimmel
Jimmy Kimmel experiences many perks by being a famous late-night talk show host, one of which is now “Private Rihanna concert in his bedroom.”
The consummate prankster became the victim when the singer visited his show Wednesday night. “I’m a really big fan of your April Fools’ pranks,” Rihanna told the host. “So I was like, ‘I want to do that.’ If I’m going to go on the couch, let’s get him pranked.”
The clip shows the singer and her crew, in full show gear, entering Kimmel’s home at 1 a.m., sneaking into his bedroom while he was sleeping, and waking him up with a live performance of Rihanna’s new single “Bitch Better Have My Money.” Far from a gentle lullaby, Rihanna makes it rain over Kimmel’s head, brings disco lights to his room and jumps on his bed while performing. “What the fuck is going on,” says the bemused host after the song. “It seemed like an UFO had landed.”
“I will admit: That’s not usually how you come to me in my dreams,” joked the host later on.
Rihanna told Kimmel that she is no stranger to pranking, both as perpetrator and victim. “This year, we had to perform outside, and it was freezing cold and I poured the dirtiest mixture of milk, pineapple juice, eggs, and bubble gum [on my crew]. I lined the crotch of their pants with gum. I put raw fish in their suitcase.”
“Bitch Better Have My Money” is the second single off Rihanna’s forthcoming, as-yet-untitled eighth album, following the release of “FourFiveSeconds” with Kanye West and Paul McCartney. After teasing the song’s cover art on Instagram, the singer released sneak peeks of the track’s intro and outro exclusively on the lip-synching app Dubsmash. The grinding track was produced by Deputy and co-produced by Kanye West, with additional production from Travis Scott and Wonda Girl.
The singer has yet to reveal a title or release date for her upcoming album.
