Hear Casey James’ Heartbreaking New Single ‘Fall Apart’
Casey James, who went from American Idol finalist to the Top 15 on the country charts with “Crying on a Suitcase,” is getting ready to “Fall Apart.” That’s the title of the new single he released last week to Sirius XM’s The Highway. Penned by Will Bowen with Josh Carter and Zach Carter (the twin-brother duo also known as Kingston), the track was one of the first the singer cut for his sophomore album, which will be released on Columbia Nashville.
“I worked every day for two and a half years searching for music, finding the things that I want to say as an artist, the way I want it to sound,” says James, whose self-titled debut LP was released in 2012. “I didn’t sacrifice. Every song I chose has its own purpose and meaning, and they say something.”
“Fall Apart” is a slow-burning ballad that details the challenges of getting over a lost love, and the as-yet-untitled album, James reveals, will be a honest representation of the singer-songwriter’s personal experiences over the past several years.
“When I listen to this music, I feel like it’s my life,” he explains. “All my mistakes; my decisions, good and bad; my thoughts, my hopes… everything that I am has led me to make this record. I’m doing my best to use the blessings that I’ve been given to make the world a better place, to give what I’m able to, and not hold back anything.”
No release date has been announced for the new album.
