‘Walking Dead’ Cast Shoots to Kill in New Trailer
The new teaser for the second half of The Walking Dead‘s fifth season doesn’t feature any big hints at how the gang will rebound after December’s wrenching midseason finale — but who needs plot points when there’s tons of slow-motion action?
The clip opens with Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the gang strolling through a foggy forest when the leader halts the group with a raised hand and says, in a voice over, “Survival together is all that matters.” The crew then proceeds, weapons drawn, before taking aim and opening fire on an unseen enemy. “It’s all that matters,” Rick reiterates at the end after the group lowers their arms and peers into the distance.
The Walking Dead returns to AMC on February 8th at 9 p.m. ET. For those looking for a Season Five refresher, be sure to check out our rundown of the midseason finale.
Last year, AMC announced a new companion series to the The Walking Dead, which would be helmed by writer-producer Dave Erickson (Sons of Anarchy, Low Winter Son). The new show won’t technically be a spinoff, but will likely be set in the same universe as The Walking Dead, exploring the effects of the zombie outbreak in a different locale. As Variety reported in September, Cliff Curtis (Gang Related, Missing) has been cast as the male lead, likely Sean Cabrera, a divorced teacher trying to do right by everyone.
