Puddle of Mudd Singer Arrested for Riding Baggage Carousel
Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin was arrested last week at the Denver airport after embracing his inner child riding a baggage carousel, Colorado’s 9News reports.
According to a report from the Denver police, Scantlin — in flagrant disregard for signs reading “keep out” and “do not ride the carousel” — was seen running behind the carousel and coming “out of the secured area through an alarmed door.”
Scantlin was apprehended by police and taken to jail. He was eventually bailed out, according to a Facebook post from promoter Rock Panther Presents, by a fan, and showed up to Puddle of Mudd’s gig several hours late. In a separate post, Rock Panther promised they would “NEVER book [Puddle of Mudd] again.”
For his part, Scantlin was hardly fazed by the incident, writing on Facebook the next day, “I’m here Denver! Thanks for your patience.” Scantlin later posted a photoshopped picture of himself casually siting next to some luggage on a carousel along with a simple note to all the haters: “I’m sorry?”
Amazingly, riding a baggage carousel isn’t the weirdest thing Scantlin has gotten in trouble for. The frontman’s rap sheet is riddled with arrests for public intoxication and cocaine possession, but amidst the run-of-the-mill rock star fodder, he’s also owed $60,000 in back taxes, taken a buzz saw to a neighbor’s porch and gotten so drunk and disorderly on an airplane, it was forced to make an emergency landing. Topping it all off, Scantlin earned himself a lifetime ban from Graceland in 2007 after cannonballing into one of Elvis Presley’s off-limits pools.
