Sony Tablet PCs Coming With PlayStation Support
Sony has joined the tablet PC arms race and announced two new slate computers, code-named the S1 and S2, which will run on the Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system and offer PlayStation games and multimedia.
The S1 is 9.4-inch wedge-shaped widescreen model optimized for media entertainment, while the clamshell S2, which has two 5.5-inch displays, will instead focus on mobile communication and entertainment. Both will be compatible with the PlayStation Suite service, which lets you download PSOne games, as well as new apps and digital diversions. The pair will also support WiFi, 3G and 4G wireless connectivity, and will be compatible with Sony’s online cloud music streaming service Qriocity.
While no price has yet been announced, the sure to be expensive Sony tablets will offer access to Web surfing, email, eBooks, photos, videos, games and more when they launch worldwide this fall.
