Noel Gallagher’s 11-Year-Old Daughter Launches Modeling Career
As Elle and Dakota Fanning’s enormous popularity with the fashion crowd suggests, the contemporary modeling scene is a breakneck race where the youngest, hungriest contender gets the most attention. Enter Anais Gallagher, the 11-year-old daughter of British rock icon Noel Gallagher. Too young for the runway (where the age cutoff is usually 16, though this rule is frequently abused), Gallagher has nonetheless landed a deal with Select, one of the industry’s leading agencies. Technically, she can appear as an editorial model at any time – and has already been photographed by Mario Testino, who frequently shoots major Vogue stories. Meg Matthews, Anais’ mother, proudly posted that photo to her Twitter account yesterday.
With a writeup in the Telegraph in Anais’ arsenal already, the British press seems keen to turn her into a sensation, especially given her rock star lineage. A few outlets are already breathlessly lining Gallagher up to be the “the new Kate Moss.” However, the subject of underage models is a fragile one: this summer, the hype surrounding 10-year-old model Thylane Loubry Blondeau led to a Vogue Paris shoot featuring the girl in stilettos and makeup, causing major controversy.
So far, Gallagher’s biggest modeling gig keeps in line with her musical roots. She stars in a Paul Smith Junior video campaign, seen below:
