Most Popular iPhone and iPad Apps Ever
Having just hit 10 billion (yes, with a “b”) downloads on its App Store, which recently debuted on Mac computers, Apple has revealed the most downloaded iPhone and iPad apps of all-time.
Divided into four categories, Facebook tops the list of top 10 free iPhone apps, with Pandora, Google Mobile App, Shazam and Movies by Flixster following, illustrating the vital role communications and entertainment play for owners.
Top paid iPhone apps are led by Doodle Jump, Tap Tap Revenge 3, Pocket God, Angry Birds and Tap Tap Revenge 2.6, with video games claiming a whopping nine slots. Music games in particular stand out, with no less than three entries belonging to interactive entertainment publisher Tapulous, maker of titles like Riddim Ribbon and Katy Perry Revenge.
The top paid iPad Apps, led by music search and discovery engine SoundHound, StickWars, FlightTrack, Backbreaker Football and Calorie Tracker, prove more eclectic. Other leading choices include mood enhancers such as Ambiance and the ever popular iFart Mobile.
Top 10 free iPad Apps include Pandora, Google Mobile App, Movies by Flixster, Google Earth and Yelp, with digital eReader program iBooks ranking just eighth on the list, though thankfully above Solitaire.
