Green Day to Launch Nokia Music Service With New York Concert
Green Day is set to perform in partnership with Nokia and AT&T for the launch of a new music streaming service, Nokia Music. Their concert will take place on September 15th at New York’s Irving Plaza hall. U.S.-based fans can check out Green Day’s Facebook page for details on the kick-off event and information on how to snag tickets.
Green Day has also created three exclusive playlists for Nokia Music that will be available for users of the service. These come in addition to the program’s 150 playlists that were curated by “an expert team of U.S.-based musicologists,” according to a company statement. The new service plans to tap other musicians for special playlists in the future. Nokia Music also features a “Create” function that will generate playlists for users based on preferred artists.
Green Day is currently gearing up for the release of the first installment of their album trilogy ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tré! While a recent bout of heavy dehydration forced singer Billie Joe Armstrong out of action in Italy, the band will perform at tonight’s MTV Video Music Awards.
