Announce Your Pregnancy on Facebook with New Expecting Option
Facebook has added a built-in option for users to let friends and family know that they’re pregnant on their profile pages. Using new expected child features, social network subscribers can introduce unborn baby boys and girls to their list of family members along with names and due dates.
To access the function, users must simply click on the “Profile” button at the top right of the screen, then choose “Edit Profile,” which appears underneath it on their personal page. After selecting “Friends and Family,” available from the sidebar on the left-hand side of the display, you’ll be given the option to enter the name of the friendly zygote and choose “Expected Child.” Upon inserting an optional due date and hitting “Save Changes,” the news will be updated in your feed for the online world at large to fawn over.
Options expand upon Facebook’s growing and increasingly politically correct array of ways to indicate interpersonal relations, which have ballooned to include “in a civil union” and “in a domestic partnership.” Given the ability to accidentally broadcast pregnancies to relatives and employers prior to more heartfelt exchanges such as conversations and phone calls, or infuriate unsuspecting baby-daddies though, tread carefully before utilizing them.
