Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj Winners On Google In 2010
Google has released its annual Zeitgeist lists, a series of top 10 lists that rank the popular searches of the year.
The Fastest Rising (worldwide) list, which charts search terms that experienced dramatic upticks during the year, is topped by the video-chat service Chatroulette. But musicians had a strong presence on it: Justin Bieber was Number 3, making him Google’s Fastest Rising Person; Nicki Minaj was Number 4; and Katy Perry was Number 7. Meanwhile, Susan Boyle and Michael Jackson made the Fastest Falling list, which charts terms the public has cooled on. (That list was topped by swine flu.)
Musicians dominated Google’s Fastest Rising in Entertainment list, with Bieber topping the list and Shakira, Eminem, Lady Gaga, Ke$ha and Minaj also appearing on it.

The site also broke down its data for the U.S. only. The Fastest-Rising Lyrics list was topped by B.o.B’s collaboration with Hayley Williams “Airplanes,” Minaj’s “Your Love” and Travie McCoy’s “Billionaire.” Perry had three songs — “California Gurls,” “Firework” and “Teenage Dream” — on the list as well.
Bieber topped the United States’ Hottest Seat In Town list, which ranked the popularity of searches for live events on the service. Lady Gaga and Jack Johnson were the other two musicians on that list, which also contained sports teams and TV shows.
